Peru and Bolivia
An amazing trip lasting a month October/November 2012. An insight into this civilisation culminating in a visit to the ancient civilisation heritage site of Machu Picchu in Peru and the Salt Flats of Bolivia with many interesting towns and countryside on the way. Travel was rather exhausting at times by coach but together with flights and boat we traversed a mass of land and lake, glimpsing the new and ancient in these lands.
The people were friendly and we had two home stays which were memorable. Photography was not always easy of people as it was courteous to ask permission where possible and some people felt your were taking their soul when you used a camera to produce their image.
The images you see encompass the people and places I saw on this trip. South American civilisation is so interesting with its history of ancient tribes and Spanish influences after colonisation of these people by the Conquistadors. These elements are evident in its peoples and architecture in development of cities and towns.
